Plastic Toolbox Gets Mod Podge Makeover
Plastic toolboxes are inexpensive and some, like Plano, are very well made. The only thing is, they still look like plastic toolboxes, which means they lack a bit in the personality department. Mod Podge and scrapbook paper can take care of the situation. For this toolbox makeover, I simply sanded the lower half (thereby avoiding the handle and latches, which, I decided, would have never held up to daily use.) Then I wiped the sanded part down with acetone (nail polish remover) to remove any residue.
And then it was just a matter of cutting out the paper into suitable dimensions. When the entire lower half was covered, I followed up with another coat of Mod Podge and a couple of coats of satin polyurethane. Now, my tool box is so cute, I don’t have to hide it.
And, yes, I did the sides, back, and bottom too.
